Dear North Coast Academy of Sport athletes, coaches, families and partners,
We have been advised by our governing body, Regional Academies of Sport (RASi) of the following:
- the cancellation of the 2020 Your Local Club Academy Games; and
- the activation of remote programming from 16th March to 27th April.
The Board of North Coast Academy of Sport are in unanimous agreement with this decision.
These are unique times, times that are changing by the day and we feel this is the best decision for NCAS athletes, staff, volunteers, parents, and caregivers who, as ever were paramount in our decision-making. As a result of this decision, existing face to face training programs will not take place and of course the Academy Games is cancelled. We are currently discussing with coaches and administrators how we can best remotely serve athlete needs (through online training program, education and other methods) during this period and I will keep you informed about this.
We have also taken the decision to close the office at SCU from close of business today (16.03.2020). D’Arcy, Jess and Claire will be working from home and can be contacted through normal means. We will be reviewing the situation regularly and reporting back to stakeholders on an ongoing basis. D’Arcy 0477 773 228 programs@ncas.org.au; Claire 0455 290 367 admin@ncas.org.au. Please be assured the Board has everybody’s best interests at heart however, if you have any questions about any aspect please do not hesitate to email me at dave.arthur@isport.edu.au or call on 0422 267 813.
In the meantime I wish you and yours the best of health in these trying times.
Yours in sport…
Dr Dave Arthur
Chair, NCAS
