The NCAS Program is designed to develop Aussie Rules talent, focusing on athletes in the U13, U15 and U17 age groups. Throughout the program, selected athletes will be provided with opportunities to develop and refine the skills needed to elevate both their performance on the field and their overall knowledge of the game.

Proudly supported by AFL NSW, this program continues to provide pathways for dedicated and talented athletes within Aussie Rules.

NCAS Aussie Rules athletes will have access to the following benefits:

  • Access to a network of specialised coaches

  • Face to face training sessions (kicking, handball, tackle technique and game play)

  • 38 weeks of structured strength and conditioning

  • Inter-Academy match play opportunity

  • Athlete education covering key topics eg. leadership, load management, motivation, nutrition, sports psychology

  • Access to purchase NCAS merchandise

To be eligible for selection into the NCAS Aussie Rules Program, athletes must be invited by AFL NSW and the Regional Academies of Sport based on performance or potential performance levels displayed during the AFL NSW Representative Carnival.

Athlete age groups eligible are below:

Male and Female

  • Under 13’s (2011, 2012)
  • Under 15s (2009, 2010)
  • Under 17s (2007, 2008)

All athletes invited must be e a registered player with a local AFL club/association and reside within the North Coast Local Government Area (LGA)

A trial may be held if nomination numbers exceed our squad capacity.
All nominated athletes will be notified if a trial will be held via email once nominations close on the 15th September.

There will be a program levy applied to each athlete selected. This will be invoiced once the final squad is selected and notified.
