The NCAS Triathlon program is delivered in partnership with Triathlon NSW and the Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) network.

This program provides a high‑performance development pathway for talented young Triathletes, focusing on technical skills, strength and conditioning, athlete education, and personal growth. It aligns with Triathlon NSW and Triathlon Australia’s national talent frameworks and connects athletes to state and national pathways.

Athletes receive targeted skill development, seasonal training support, and preparation for high‑performance tournaments. The program includes practical education in areas such as S&C, nutrition, sports psychology and injury management, along with opportunities to represent NCAS at events, inter‑academy sessions and camps.

 

Selected athletes receive:

  • High‑quality coaching in a squad environment
  • Access to quality training facilities
  • Strength & Conditioning assessment and programming
  • Sports science testing and high‑performance training support
  • Opportunities to represent NCAS at events
  • Education in technical, tactical, and personal Triathlon development
  • Academy uniform kit (additional cost)
  • Participation in Your Local Club Academy Games, Billigence Pathwya Series and Super Sprint Race Weekends
  • Access to Lumin (Academy athlete performance and management platform)

To be eligible for selection athletes must meet the following criteria:

  1. Reside in the north coast region within the defined Local Government boundaries of the following Council areas: Tweed, Byron, Lismore, Ballina, Kyogle, Richmond River, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Nambucca, Kempsey and Port Macquarie-Hastings.
  2. Athletes must be between 13 and 18 years of age (as of 31st December 2026)
  3. Registered with a Local Club/Association or directly with Aus Triathlon.
  4. Demonstrate physical and behavioral attributes that are considered essential to progress to a standard to be selected as members of the TNSW Emerging Talent Squad in the following 2-3 years.
  5. Be able to commit to all planned RAS/ROSTA program events.

Each applicant is reviewed by an independent selected panel of coaches, administrators and invited representatives. The NCAS decision/s regarding athlete selection is based on objective and subjective measures and the NCAS hold final responsibility for the selection of athletes.
