The NCAS Triathlon Program exists to provide a unique opportunity for local triathletes to gain further individual skill and personal development that will assist them in gaining higher representative selection in the sport of Triathlon.

The NCAS Triathlon program is a part of the Triathlon New South Wales development pathway and has been designed, along with other NSW Regional Academy triathlon programs, to bridge the gap between local and club representation and the Triathlon New South Wales Junior Development Squad.

 

The North Coast Academy of Sport Triathlon program is a part of the Triathlon New South Wales development pathway and has been designed, along with other NSW Regional Academy triathlon programs, to bridge the gap between local and club representation and the Triathlon New South Wales Junior Development Squad.

The aim of the program being for athletes to progress into higher level squads through the the Triathlon NSW and Triathlon Australia Pathway.

 

NCAS Triathlon athletes will have access to the following benefits as a NCAS Athlete:

  • Access to Lumin Athlete Management System

  • NCAS Merchandise Pack

  • Education Sessions on Nutrition, Sports Psychology, Drugs in Sport, Media Training, and Social Media.

  • Opportunity to Attend Academy Games in Tamworth

  • Opportunity to Join Inter-Academy Training Camp Tour

  • Squad Training Sessions with NCAS and Other Academy Triathlon Squads

  • Weekly Face-to-Face Strength and Conditioning Sessions

To be eligible for selection athletes must meet the following criteria:

  1. Reside in the north coast region within the defined Local Government boundaries of the following Council areas: Tweed, Byron, Lismore, Ballina, Kyogle, Richmond River, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Nambucca, Kempsey and Port Macquarie-Hastings.
  2. Athletes must be between 13 and 18 years of age (as of 31st December 2025)
  3. Registered with a Local Club/Association or directly with Aus Triathlon.
  4. Demonstrate physical and behavioral attributes that are considered essential to progress to a standard to be selected as members of the TNSW Emerging Talent Squad in the following 2-3 years.
  5. Be able to commit to all planned RAS/ROSTA program events.

Each applicant is reviewed by an independent selected panel of coaches, administrators and invited representatives. The NCAS decision/s regarding athlete selection is based on objective and subjective measures and the NCAS hold final responsibility for the selection of athletes.
