In Loving Memory of Mr Harold Kratz
Harold was a coach with the Lower Clarence Amateur Rowing Club in Maclean. He was also an Assistant Coach with the NCAS Rowing Program from 2004 – 2019
Harold was been a pro-active coach , who embraced new coaching philosophies and ideas. He was of great assistance to both Colin Lang – NCAS Head Coach in 2004-2007 and John Kincade – Head Coach NTID Program in 2006-08 and NCAS Head Coach in 2008 – 2019.
In respect of his rowing specific coaching over this period I have had the rewarding opportunity of working with Harold and observed his obvious ability to relate to athletes and his teaching methodology. Harold was a wonderful mentor to all coaches in our program. Harold had a ‘Coaches Eye” and was quite perceptive in noting and correcting faults in technique.
Harold coached athletes to many National & State Championships and several athletes to National Junior and Under 23 Teams.
A legend of the sport – he will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by the Staff, Board and Management of the Academy.
