The NCAS Golf Program is supported and endorsed by Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG). The NCAS Golf Program has the specific objective of identifying talented junior golfers and providing them with a level of coaching and ancillary athlete education that will assist them in taking the next step in the sport of Golf.
The program is designed to expose golfers to skills testing and training designed by JNJG, new challenges and opportunities, and to complement any lessons / training you are receiving from your local Club/Professional. The program will look to communicate at regular intervals with home coaches so the development of the athlete is well supported.
The NCAS program is headed by Luke Woods, PGA Professional & Golf NSW – JNJG Regional Manager, and assisted by Tom Major, PGA Professional. Luke brings with him a wealth of knowledge regarding pathways and athlete development through his role in the Golf NSW – JNJG talent identification and development coaching and selection team.
Through tailored training programs, and engaging with local industry professionals, the NCAS Golf Program aims to unlock the full potential of each participant and continue to promote regional talent. The golf program involves intensive training sessions, supplemented by inter-academy camps and tours. Members of the squad will be exposed to expert coaching services, and sport specific education in areas such as strength and conditioning, nutrition, sport psychology, sport media & communications, as well as engaging in weekly strength & conditioning training.
The re-launch of the NCAS golf academy program is an exciting chapter in our collective journey towards excellence. We invite young aspiring golfers to join Luke, Tom and the North Coast Academy of Sport and take the next step in their golfing journey.
